Bio
MYSELF

I'm a poor college student currently studying English literature, philosophy and Latin at a small liberal arts university in eastern Ohio. I'm also bisexual woman that really digs superhero comics, modernist poetry and medieval English history. I've been told by more than one person that my taste in films, music, television, literature, &c. is somewhat questionable and I am in the midst of a scandalous love-affair with the ampersand.

If I speak with you for over the span of ten minutes I will likely make an incredibly obtuse joke.

JOURNAL

This journal is primarily for personal use, though sometimes I write about politics in general or review a particularly striking and/or so-bad-it's-good film or work of music. I'm not really into fandom but I do occasionally crank out fic or a handful of meta or some art or whatever. Most of the salient things I post are theoretical in nature; I'm especially interested in ethics and gender & sexuality, though metaphysics tends to pop up more often than it should.

FRIENDING

My journal isn't friends only, though I do filter about 40 percent of what I post. I really enjoy meeting new people, so if you've any interest in friending me feel free to do so -- I will almost always add you back. The only thing I do request is that you write me a bit in a comment about who you are and why you've friended me. I have a handful of people who've never commented on my journal, and that does kind of weird me out.

I don't particularly care if you do or don't comment on my entries and I'll never do a friends cut. That said, I'm fairly bad at commenting myself. I have weeks where I don't comment at all, though I usually read all of the entires on my f-list. If that happens it's probably nothing personal -- I'm just being lazy.

LINKS

As far as creativity goes, I'm very much a jack-of-all-trades dabbler type. I write fanfiction, though my profile is sporadically updated at best and dead at worst. I still do write, but it's mostly original fiction. I mostly focus on my ongoing story-like maybe-Great-American-Novel, though I've also been taking an interest in poetry. I make icons with my girlfriend aeirol over at rhetoricons, and sometimes I even do some art. I'm also working on a webcomic and a young adult novel with stormantia as well, though neither of those projects have gotten very far to date. Still, if anything sounds interesting feel free to friend/check out/provide concrit/what-have-you!
